The time of the spring season where Texas prospects are releasing lists of final teams in their recruitments is well under way. With a more narrow focus on specific teams, here are some updated best guesses for big names in the state.

The latest: The big surprise in Green’s announcement was the omission of Texas A&M amid a list of 13 teams. Recently things have picked up a little bit more with Texas and TCU, and nearby LSU might be looking to turn up the heat with him as well after seeing Rivals100 safety Caden Sterns' flip to the Longhorns. If he doesn’t commit before the start of the season, there may be a chance USC reels him in after an official visit, but it seems far more likely he’s inclined to pick a closer program regionally to him. Texas is the safe guess, but it will be worth watching to see if the Frogs or Tigers can find a way to make things interesting.

The latest: Woodard is a well-rounded receiver that could have a role in just about any sort of offense. Although he has released a top 10 and subsequently picked up offers from Alabama and Florida State, he may not be as close to making a decision as he thought. The feeling at the moment is that Texas or Texas A&M are toward the front of the line with Ole Miss or possibly Clemson, LSU or Ohio State still in the picture. The momentum sides with Texas right now, so until one of the others can make a serious play for him, the Longhorns very much look like the likely destination.

The latest: Playing the odds here would break down as follows: Texas Tech already has four receivers committed in this class, and might not offer the same opportunity as some of the others. Louisville would be an interesting team to keep an eye on if quarterback (and high school teammate) Jalen Mayden commits there this month. Even with nearby Houston and pass-happy Washington State in the mix, Utah could come out as the team to beat. Kyle Whittingham draws rave reviews from recruits and the offensive assistants connect well with prospects.

Prediction: Utah

The latest: Since releasing his top 10 of Duke, Florida, Michigan, Missouri, Ole Miss, Penn State, Tennessee, TCU, Texas and USC at the end of February, Jamison has picked up offers from Notre Dame, Oregon, Wisconsin and others. Through the spring, it seems as though things are going to come down to TCU and Texas. While many are focused on where Anthony Cook - teammate of Jamison and Woodard - will be heading, and wondering how much influence the teammates will have on each other’s commitments, a package deal of Jamison and Woodard to Texas would seem one of the higher probable outcomes. The Longhorns have to be careful in how they recruit Cook and Jamison at the same time, which could open the door for TCU to really sell Jamison as its top priority.

Preston said earlier in the spring that Texas A&M and LSU were certainly going to be two of his most valued teams. Throw in Oklahoma going back to his appreciation for the Sooners since the start of his recruitment, and that seems to be the most likely top three. The selective way in which Texas has recruited receivers this spring may open the door a little bit more for Baylor (his most recent visit was to Waco toward the end of last month), Ole Miss or perhaps an X-Factor team such as Oregon could step up their efforts. This is a tough one that could still seemingly go in any direction.

Prediction: LSU
