Texas RB has visits in mind

As the days go on and Signing Day gets a little bit closer, Houston (Texas) Spring Woods running back Marcus Mendoza says that he's starting to think more and more about recruiting.
The 5-foot-10, 175-pounder says that his current favorites include Kansas State, Oklahoma State, Texas Tech, Nebraska, Arizona, Arkansas, and TCU. Three of those schools may be ahead of the others as he's already thinking about visiting those campuses this fall.

"I know for sure I'll get out to Kansas State, OSU, and Texas Tech," Mendoza said. "I've already been to OSU and liked it down there. Tech seems cool and we've had some guys from here go there. Kansas State seems like a good program and they've been writing me alot, so I know they're interested."
Mendoza says that he's considering a lot of other schools for visits. He'll take as many as he can before making a commitment.
"Before I decide anything, I want to travel around to see some places," Mendoza said.
Mendoza says that recruiting in general is "more serious now" because he's getting closer to the deadline in February. But, he still wants to "wait things out until the football season" completes.
Practice is also starting up and Mendoza is ready to have another big year.
"We lost a lot of people, but we're looking pretty good," he said. "We've got a lot of speed, but we're a smaller team."
