Terry stays patient with recruiting

Lufkin, Texas cornerback Darrius Terry is still waiting on his first scholarship offer, but with spring practice getting started, several coaches are stopping by to get a closer look at the talented defender.
Terry, the 6-foot, 171-pound corner, says that North Texas and Oklahoma State are two schools that he knows are coming by and has seen some other coaches around Lufkin over this past week. He says that he's also getting quite a bit of mail from some out-of-state schools.

"Florida, I'd have to say them," Terry said about who's sending the most mail. "They send a lot. The same goes for Oklahoma State. I just haven't had a chance to talk to any coaches on the phone yet."
Terry says that he doesn't have any favorite schools but has also heard from LSU, Oklahoma, and Florida State by mail over the last few weeks.
"I'm basically just looking for a good education and a school that's going to make sure that you succeed," he said. "I'm just looking at everybody right now to see what's good."
As for what he and his team are focusing on this spring, Terry says it's all about defense and a quarterback race.
"We're just working hard on each position to get those nailed down," he said. "We're also working on the quarterback spot. There is a battle going on right now to see who's going to start."
