TCU lands dual-threat speedster QB Hauss Hejny

Aledo (Texas) dual-threat quarterback Hauss Hejny has announced his commitment to TCU as the Horned Frogs get the legacy quarterback target that they coveted in recent weeks.

After decommitting from Duke on Mar. 22, Hejny took visits to Baylor, Houston, Oklahoma State and TCU, but his lifelong fandom for the Horned Frogs and his long-standing relationship with new offensive coordinator Kendal Briles helped TCU win his commitment comfortably.

"I've had a relationship with Coach Briles at TCU for a while now," Hejny said. "That sparked back up when he got to TCU."

A standout for Aledo's state championship-winning squad in 2022, Hejny threw for 2,094 yards and 20 touchdowns while also rushing for 1,276 yards and 15 touchdowns. His dual-threat ability serves as a big danger to opposing defenses as he possesses true track speed as a signal-caller. His personal bests on the track include a 10.68 in the 100-meter event from last spring.

As a passer, Hejny is versatile and clearly dangerous outside of the pocket with his lightning speed, but his downfield accuracy is what makes him a coveted quarterback prospect. For the Bearcats as a junior, Hejny was able to spread the field with deadeye accuracy in the short-to-medium game and his speed in either escaping the pocket or taking off on designed runs.

The placement at TCU fits almost like a glove as Briles excels at developing dual-threat style quarterbacks and will be able to experiment with Hejny's speed in the designed run game when his time arrives to hit the field in Fort Worth.

One thing that Hejny would benefit from improving on would be growing and being more physical in the run-game. Below 6-foot and sitting at 170 pounds, Hejny will need to beef up for the next level to be as effective in the run game.

At 5-foot-11, 170 pounds Hejny is rated as three-star prospect, according to Rivals.
