AGOURA HILLS, Calif. – Johnny Wilson could be one of the top 2020 receivers nationally and his recruitment has already started to get busy.

But the Calabasas, Calif., standout seems more focused on putting up big numbers in his sophomore season and getting wins than worrying about where he’s heading for college in a few years.

“It’s not that much pressure,” Wilson said. “I did it last year. Just trying to stay humble and get it done this year.”

So far, the 6-foot-4, 190-pound prospect has landed offers from Arizona State, Fresno State, Nebraska, Oregon, UCLA, USC and Washington.

It’s early but three schools seem to have captured his attention.

“Right now, Washington, USC, UCLA, those are the schools but I’m still waiting to see what I get this season,” Wilson said.

For the Huskies, Wilson has a lot of admiration for coach Chris Petersen and that could go a long way as the 2020 prospect looks at his recruitment.

The local schools will always play a role as well. The Calabasas recruit watched UCLA’s camp this summer and USC is also coming hard after the standout receiver early on.

“I just like the community,” Wilson said of Washington. “It feels like home over there. I love coach Petersen.

“It feels like home (at UCLA and USC). They’re close to home. I feel like I can really connect with all the coaches and players there.”

As for unofficial visits this season, Wilson said he plans to visit Washington for the UCLA matchup in late October.
