Spence returns from Tennessee

Visits has been a top priority for Arlington (Texas) Lamar defensive end prospect Chandler Spence.
This past weekend, Spence said he attended the Tennessee junior day. The 6-foot-4, 232-pounder went to the Texas A&M junior day several weeks ago as well. Right now, Spence is waiting on his first offer but with mail picking up, that may not be too far off in the future.

"I feel like just through communication and text messages that Kansas and probably Vanderbilt are pretty close," Spence said about possible future offers. "They've shown that they're interested in me and that they'll be down for spring training. They're taking a good look at me."
Spence says his trip to Tennessee was definitely well worth the long trip. It's also a school that he's been to before.
"That was a good time," Spence said about visiting the Volunteers. "My grandfather lives in Tennessee, so he met us in Knoxville. I've been to their past two summer camps starting after my freshman year. I'm pretty familiar with the campus and the coaches.
"We got to watch their spring game. They had the band out there and there were a ton of people out there. It was a good atmosphere."
Spence says that he has also stayed in close contact with the A&M coaching staff since visiting College Station for their junior day several weeks ago. He still hasn't come out with a favorite.
"You know, to be honest, I'm enjoying the whole thing," Spence said. "I don't really have a favorite yet."
Spence says he's currently participating in off-season workouts. Lamar will start spring practice later this month.
