Silvera names leader, discusses recent offer

Nesta Silvera

Nesta Silvera is likely to welcome in more offers before he makes a decision. The four-star junior has plenty of time to let things shake out before Signing Day 2018. This much he knows.

It hasn’t stopped the four-star defensive tackle from formulating opinions. In fact, he doesn’t mind naming a frontrunner of sorts. Things are subject to change, sure, but the Planation (Fla.) American Heritage High School star’s take on his offer list is strong.

“My favorite offer is Mississippi State because [Terrell Buckley] is one of the coolest coaches I've met by far,” Silvera said. “He shows me a lot of love.”

Silvera says he intends to visits both Florida State and Tennessee this fall but is yet to set dates for such visits. For now, he’s more focused on getting to know college coaches and fielding new offers, one of which recently arrived from Iowa State.

The conversation with Cyclones defensive line coach Eli Rasheed, which resulted in an offer, was apparently short and to the point.

“He said he loved the way I play and that wanted me to be apart of Iowa State,” Silvera said.

A four-star prospect, Silvera is ranked as the No. 20 defensive tackle and the No. 247 overall prospect in the class of 2018

IN HIS WORDS: “Mississippi State, Kentucky, and FSU are recruiting the hardest right now.”

RIVALS REACTION: If Signing Day 2018 were today, Silvera would almost certainly sign with Mississippi State. Thing is, there’s plenty of time before he’s forced to choose a school. The longer other schools take to offer Silvera, the stronger his bond with the Bulldog staff will become. This recruitment probably has a few twists left in it, but Mississippi State will likely be involved to some extend until its conclusion.
