Recruitment story
Porcher burst onto the scene in the summer. Although he'd already landed several offers, the list exploded and he became a true national target. It was Nebraska that had the attention of Porcher in June, and after a visit to Lincoln, he made an early July decision to commit to the Huskers.
However, he wasn't quite done. He was still interested in other schools, and made the decision to decommit from Nebraska in early December. Virginia Tech ramped up the interest at that time, securing an official visit in January. Although he looked at several other schools, it was clear when he was in Blacksburg that he wanted to stay. He pulled the trigger at that time.
Statistically speaking
Porcher set a school record - at a power program in Florida's largest division - with 17 quarterback sacks this season. He totaled 104 tackles and 40 tackles for loss to add to an extremely impressive statline.
