Rivals250 linebacker Aaron Hansford stays relatively quiet when it comes to doing interviews but the Washington (D.C.) St. John's College High standout getting very close to naming a short list.
"I'll probably release my top ten next week," said the 6-foot-2, 210-pound Hansford. "I kind of have a few schools that I know but I'm still waiting to find ways that other schools might stand out to me. I need to do more research on them to see if they'll make the cut."
Hansford had previously named Oregon, Ohio State, Penn State, Florida, North Carolina, Duke and Notre Dame as teams that will make his top ten.
"I feel pretty good about those but some others are coming on the scene," he said. "I'm still waiting to see if any other schools have interest in me. Some other schools have caught eye so I still have to do my research."
There is at least one school that will host Hansford later this month.
"I think I'll be back up at Penn State on July 18," Hansford said. "I think some family members will be with me. I might not be able to get to all of the southern schools I want to. I know my mom wants to go by the end of July but we'll see what happens."
With about 20 offers to his name, Hansford is having a hard time figuring out where some of them stand.
"I'm at the same point in the evaluation process with all the schools," he said. "There is no favorite yet."
Hansford has former teammates at Maryland, Penn State, Kentucky, Wake Forest and others while some of his current teammates are committed to Tennessee and Ohio State.
