The quarterback is the most important position not just in football, but maybe in sports. With that, college football fans are naturally enamored with the recruiting of the position.

As fall camp starts around the country and the season nears closer, let's see where teams stand in the recruiting department of the position.

Here is a look at all the quarterbacks commits of each of the 16 SEC programs.

Alabama

It should come as a shocker to no one that Alabama has one of the top overall quarterbacks in the class headed their way. Russell has had possibly the biggest offseason of any player in the country, winning the Elite 11 Finals, Rivals Five-Star QB Challenge, and excelling in 7v7, all of which has resulted in his ranking and stock skyrocketing.

The Duncanville product is looking for his third straight state championship in one of the toughest divisions in the country, Texas 6A.

Arkansas

The Razorbacks keep one of their own in state to man the duty in the 2025 class. Wilson is one of the longest tenured pledges in the class having committed in April 2023. Coming off a monster junior season that saw him pass for over 3,400 yards and 41 touchdowns to just two interceptions.

The Arkansas quarterback room is covered for at least one season, but it will likely turn to a battle for the job when Wilson arrives on campus.

Georgia

Mongtomery has been in the Bulldogs class since April and has certainly strengthened his case as a blue-chip prospect in the class. He was a standout in Los Angeles at the Elite 11 Finals, displaying great arm strength and a phenomenal Pro Day performance.

The Ohio native is entering a Georgia quarterback room that will have some battles when he arrives in Athens.

Kentucky

The only class in the SEC with two commits at the quarterback position. Kentucky is certainly showing they have a type as Saunders is 6-foot-2, 200 pounds and Ward is 6-foot-2, 190 pounds. Two person quarterback classes are always interesting as they are guaranteed to have someone they are competing against when they arrive on campus.

Saunders is certainly the most productive of this group, already having thrown for 10,142 yards and 156 touchdowns to just 15 interceptions. While Ward is not quite as accomplished in the stats department, he too has been playing since his freshman season. Kentucky will be getting a pair of prospects who have a lot of football under their belt.

LSU

Bryce Underwood will be in discussion for the No. 1 overall spot in the 2025 class as the year progresses. One of the most college ready builds at 6-foot-3, 205 pounds with a elite level arm. We have not seen a ton of Underwood in offseason events as opposed to other to top quarterback prospects, but his talent is undeniable.

Will be in line to be an early contributor at LSU, who will likely be looking to find a new starter within a year or two of Underwood being on campus.

Mississippi State

One of the strongest arms in the class, Taylor is a great fit in a Jeff Lebby offense. He is a quarterback who can undoubtedly sling the ball across the yard and attack down field. Fantastic frame at 6-foot-4, 205 pounds which will surely be useful in the SEC.

Accuracy will be the biggest area of development for Taylor, who can be a bit erratic at times, but that will just come with times as he grows into his arm and settles in to a system at Mississippi State.

Missouri

Zollers has had quite a bit of buzz around him this offseason and while he did not have a great performance at the Elite 11 Finals, the potential is no doubt there. Another potential early contributor in this class, Zollers will enter a quarterback room at Missouri looking for a new starter.

He provides the opportunity to play in an RPO driven offense and while he may not run for 1,000 yards, he is more than capable of being a threat on the ground. Will need some polish and general development to his game, but there is upside to his game.

Oklahoma

Sperry has a claim as one of the most level quarterbacks in the class. He has a solid build at 6-foot-1, 200 pounds and you will rarely see him make big mistakes. He has a solid foundation of mechanics and is routinely smooth in his delivery. Does not have the biggest arm, but is very accurate, completing nearly 70 percent of his passes as a junior.

Headed to Oklahoma where there is often big playmakers at wideout, so spreading the ball around will be no issue for Sperry.

South Carolina

Another quarterback staying in state for college, Woods is also the most recent commit of the group. The offer list is not quite the same as some of the others on this list, but Woods happens to be one of the more productive members of this list. Woods, headed to South Carolina, has 7,756 passing yards and 77 touchdowns to 20 interceptions in his three year prep career to this point. It is likely he will eclipse 10,000 career passing yards.

Tennesee

MacIntyre has been considered one of the top quarterback prospects in the class, but it has been some time since we have seen him in person. He has not been available for a chunk of the offseason due to injury, so his senior season will be very important for an update evaluation.

As a junior, he threw for just over 3,200 yards and 28 touchdowns. At 6-foot-5, he is among the tallest quarterbacks in the class. There are several things to like about the Tennessee commit, but it will be important for us to see him live this year.

Texas

One of the more intriguing quarterbacks in the class at 6-foot-1, 180 pounds. Has had some up and down performances in the 7v7 and camp scenes, but has been nothing but lights out on Friday nights.

With Arch Manning in Austin waiting in the wings, Lacey may have to be patient before his time arrives, but with the playmakers that will be available and the Steve Sarkisian offense that brings points, it is hard to believe Lacey wont have success at some point for Texas.

Texas A&M

One of the strongest arms in the class and showed off the accuracy while at the Elite 11 Finals in Los Angeles this summer. Longstreet has been praised by his peers for how he throws the ball. Joining a new coaching regime in College Station, but the style of offense is still to be learned for Texas A&M. But with the arm talent of Longstreet, I'd have to imagine they will be looking to attack through the air.

Schools with no QB commits:

Florida, Auburn, Ole Miss, and Vanderbilt
