SEC Media Days: Star freshmen at Alabama, Mizzou, UK, A&M

HOOVER, Ala. – SEC Media Days continued on Wednesday with players and coaches from Alabama, Missouri, Kentucky and Texas A&M taking center stage. With all four of those programs expected to get contributions from incoming freshmen, Rivals.com surveyed some of the players and coaches about which newcomers have impressed thus far.

ALABAMA CRIMSON TIDE

Najee [Harris] is a young player who has a lot of talent and a lot of ability. We're anxious to help him continue to develop an understanding of the offense so that he can make a contribution offensively at the running back position.” – Nick Saban, head coach

Akial Byers is a kid that we signed from incoming class from Fayetteville along with Taylor Powell. Both were teammates and I think tremendous players … in the offseason -- in the summer workouts, both of those guys stand out in the work they've done.” – Barry Odom, head coach

Kellen Mond is a guy we signed in January, signed early, came. Really a phenomenal athlete, one of the top guys in the country coming out.” – Kevin Sumlin, head coach
