Russians road trip to begin

Rising Round Rock, Texas tight end Alex Russian has added yet another scholarship offer to his filling list and has made big trip plans before he begins to narrow things down.
The 6-foot-4, 222-pounder recently called Nebraska and talked with assistant coach Shawn Watson about an offer. With others from Kansas State, LSU, Missouri, Oklahoma State, UTEP, and Tulsa in hand, Russian is ready to hit the road to see some of these campuses.

"This upcoming week, my dad and I are driving up to Kansas State on Friday, Kansas on Saturday, Oklahoma State on Sunday, Tulsa on Monday, and then finishing up with LSU on Tuesday," Russian said. "Nebraska just offered and Clemson is talking to me, but we made these plans a couple weeks ago and we just didn't have them on there as visits."
"We're going to try to get up to Nebraska maybe over the summer, but we're not sure yet."
Russian says that he'd like to have his list pretty much narrowed down after his trips to the schools that have offered him.
"The goal is to have things kind of trimmed up so I can make a decision by the beginning of August or late July," Russian said.
LSU was an early offer for the talented Russian and even though the Tigers have recently picked up commitments from two tight end prospects, they made it known to him that he was a top priority.
"Well, I was a little worried about that when I saw they got commitments from some other guys," Russian said. "I called up coach Larry Porter and he said they're still coming after me and that they still want me because they think I'm at the top. That was a big deal to me and I knew they were serious."
