Royers decision approaching

Manheim (Pa.) Central defensive end Dakota Royer has taken a methodical approach to the recruiting process, and now it appears as though he is set to announce his decision.
The 6-foot-3, 217-pound prospect from Pennsylvania trimmed his list to ten schools in late May, and then trimmed it once again to five in June.

Royer now believes the right time to make his choice is rapidly approaching. It's a choice he has already made, though he won't openly admit who the lucky school is yet.
"Well, I might be making my decision in the next two or three weeks," Royer said on Sunday evening. "I've worked through it so hopefully in the next couple of days I can get it set in stone. I'm pretty sure of where I want to go.
"It's just based on how I felt when I was at the school. I really liked everything. Then based on my research and my relationship with the coaches. I feel like I'm about ready."
Royer said he wants to sit down with his coach and discuss the details of his decision. He thinks he will announce his decision at a press conference.
He had planned on visiting Penn State recently. Royer was going to spend time with his good friend and PSU wide receiver Graham Zug. That trip never happened.
"I didn't make it," he said. "I may be able to do that next week. I was going to (go) but Graham Zug was at the U.S. Open, the golf thing, so he wasn't there."
In June, Royer said his five favorites were Notre Dame, Michigan State, Penn State, Pitt and Oregon. He has not had a chance to visit Oregon.
