CLASS OF 2020 RANKINGS: Rivals250 | State | Position | Team

The Gamecocks have added a major piece to their recruiting class. Rivals250 wide receiver Michael Wyman announced his commitment to South Carolina on Tuesday after taking final visits to the Columbia campus and North Carolina over the last two weekends. The Greensboro (N.C.) Dudley star explained how he came to this decision.

IN HIS OWN WORDS...

"I would say the facilities, the strength and conditioning coach, coach Muschamp, coach B-Mac have been recruiting me from day one," Wyman said. "They already have their 2020 quarterback and some other big playmakers already coming in and that played a big role in it too.

“I kind of knew what I was going to do about my commitment before I got to their spring game last weekend," he said. "They never really pressured me to come but they always told me they wanted me there.

“I’ll probably help recruit another receiver," said Wyman. "Me and Da’Qon Stewart are the only two receivers that are committed right now so I think there is one spot left. We’ll help recruit whoever the coaches want."

RIVALS' REACTION...

Wyman is a big, rangy receiver that does a good job using his body to shield defenders from the ball. He get downfield in a hurry and is a big target for quarterbacks over the middle and to the outside. Wyman and South Carolina's other wide receiver commit, Da'Qon Stewart, have two very different skillsets at wide receiver and balance each other out nicely. North Carolina will still try to push to get Wyman to flip before Signing Day but it won't be easy.
