Rivals250 offensive tackle Chuck Filiaga released his top-ten list of schools following a busy football weekend, that started with leading his Aledo High School team to a 65-7 win over California-Westlake.

He spent the rest of his weekend making the rounds to high-profile college football matchups that included several of the teams on his newly-minted shortlist

The full list of schools is: Arkansas, Michigan, Mississippi, Nebraska, Oklahoma, Oregon, Tennessee, Texas, TCU and USC. Although Texas A&M did not make his top-ten, it is still seemingly on the bubble of contenders.

In fact, Filiaga started his Saturday at the Texas A&M and UCLA game. Like many recruits that take in the Kyle Field gameday atmosphere, he said the experience was incomparable.

“When the team was coming out with that crowd - that’s a lot of people in one place - how could the offense call plays?” he said. “It was a great game, it was crazy to see Justin Evans pop his leg out.”

Filiaga moved along to Dallas to catch the Alabama-USC game at AT&T Stadium as a guest of the Trojans, despite having offers from both sides. Even though Alabama didn’t land in his top-ten, he said that the Tide’s dominating win didn’t affect his feeling towards USC.

“It doesn’t change my opinion on a team just because they got beat,” he said. “It’s a whole new staff out there and seeing them go up against Alabama, doing what Alabama does best; they’re the national champs and they were playing at that level.”

Oklahoma had its hands full with Houston while Filiaga was watching the Aggies, but said that the Sooners staff hasn’t been too busy to keep him a priority.

“I think that I am going to see them in two weeks,” he said. “I talk with Coach (Bill) Bedenbaugh and Coach (Bob) Stoops every day.”

Filiaga wrapped up his weekend watching Texas’ double-overtime win against Notre Dame on Sunday night, despite not getting home with more than four hours before his own football practice on Monday morning.

IN HIS WORDS

Recapping the Texas win vs. Notre Dame

“I definitely like Texas and that offense,” he said. “The crowd was just amazing. 102-thousand people in one spot is just killer.”

“I watched he offense and how they run it ... if I went there I could get comfortable pretty fast,” he added. “I have the best relationship with Texas - the whole staff - and I feel like I am top priority with them.”

On official visit to Oregon next weekend

“I have no big expectations, I’m just going with the flow,” he said. “I know they have a good program, I just can’t wait to see how they do this season.”

On TCU, where teammate Wes Harris is committed

“I took an unofficial there and I really liked it, so we’re trying to build a connection,” he said. “I know that they’re a great program and have a lot of dudes especially with Wes coming in. I haven’t talked about getting to a game with him yet, but we’re close [to campus], so I know I’ll make it to one.”

RIVALS REACTION

Outside of the Longhorns, it’s still tough to pin down Filiaga’s major allegiances. When he moved to Texas for his senior season, there was a degree of speculation that he would return to California to play his college football, but that doesn’t seem to be the case simply because that’s where he lived prior to the Lone Star State.

“I’ve moved around a lot, but I adapt quickly wherever I go,” he said. “If I go someplace else, I’ll be good wherever that is.”

Filiaga seems to enjoy atmosphere in big games, and he was quick to point out the feeling in the Aggies and Longhorns’ stadiums this weekend. He also said that he plans on making the most of his official visits before he commits, so the effort the Ducks’ faithful put forth against a very beatable Virginia could be a big help to Oregon's cause.
