Nadab Joseph’s recruitment came to an end on Tuesday, as the Rivals100 defensive back committed to Alabama.
The Tide have been the favorite to land Joseph since the moment he backed off a longstanding pledge to LSU. According to Joseph, his offseason visit to Alabama is what sealed the deal, and the time between that trip and his verbal commitment was simply a drawn-out period of reflection.
A Tuesday in-home visit from Nick Saban was a simple formality. Joseph’s commitment to the Tide had been in the works for weeks.
“It came down to LSU, Georgia and Bama,” Joseph said. “I picked Bama because I can see myself playing anywhere in the country, but I want to win championships.”
Joseph who has been the subject of a bit of position debate says his position at Alabama is not something being negotiated. He understands his size makes him appealing as a safety, sure, but the Miami Norland High School star sees himself as a corner. So, too, does the Tide.
“They want me at corner,” Joseph said. “That’s where I’m going to play. That’s all set. I’m signing next month.”
Joseph is ranked as the No. 9 cornerback and the No. 76 overall prospect in the class of 2018. He will Sign with Alabama during the early signing period, which is set to take place in mid-December.
