As one of the top overall prospects in the country, Jaylon Jones had his share of options when he decided to commit to Texas A&M in February. In the months since, several of those schools haven't stopped trying to get him to take a look around. But after a spring official visit to College Station, Jones is more solid than ever to the Aggies. Rivals.com caught up with Jones at the recent Cam Newton 7-on-7 tournament in Atlanta to discuss his commitment as well as his efforts to get other top recruits to join him in College Station.
IN HIS WORDS
"It's going well. It's always like a family when I talk about Texas A&M. The coaches over there are my guys so it's going good. I keep a close relationship with Coach Linquist, I talk to him every day pretty much."
Last visit: "I took my official visit there for the spring game. It was just like being there for a regular season game even though it was the spring game. With the 12th man and all the fans there, it doesn't get much better than that. It was very good."
Thoughts on defense during spring: "It was very good. The guys have gotten better and there were a lot of picks in the game so the guys are doing their job. The defense looked very good. Very fast, very efficient so I think we're looking for that natty run so that's what we've got to do, have a great defense."
On which players he's helping recruit: "I'm on Mushin Mohammad pretty hard. I have a few other guys but he's the main one I'm working on. They're in his Top 8 and I'm not going to spill his business but I think we have a good shot."
On other schools still recruiting him/potential other visits: "No, I'm pretty locked in with A&M and I'm ready to get there to Aggieland and do what I'm supposed to do."
