I WAS IMPRESSED BY...

Florida-based quarterback Mac Jones won his second RCS MVP award of the offseason. Jones turned in another standout performance, showing off impressive accuracy and improving arm strength despite battling gusty wins. A Kentucky commit, Jones is in the midst of a massive offseason and continues to improve as a quarterback. His footwork and mechanics have taken massive strides in the last year. He also took home an invitation to the Rivals100 Five-Star Challenge.

Malik Herring arrived with a lofty four-star ranking and backed it up by taking home the event’s defensive line MVP award. He was at his best after contact and got into the bodies of offensive linemen with quick and violent arm extension. He used a quick first step at times to beat opponents off the edge. Herring has a long list of offers and used Saturday to prove that they are well deserved.

Alabama commit Brian Robinson lost just two reps all afternoon and impressed with a number of deep routes that saw him create separation with relative ease. Robinson has an incredible running back’s build and has always been known for his power and acceleration out of the backfield. On Saturday, he showed himself to be a threat in the passing game. Robinson showed a sharp change of direction and flashed strong hands while winning a couple of jump balls.

AJ Terrell showed up to Atlanta as one of the event’s highest-rated prospects. He performed to his ranking and possibly beyond. Terrell used his nice length to recover on the rare occasion that he seemed beaten. The Atlanta-based defensive back was physical at the line of scrimmage and covers well despite having a safety’s build. He had at least one interception and also shined during the day’s iLLSPEED Drill, which is meant to measure a prospect’s applicable quickness.

I WAS SURPRISED BY

Turns out, there are plenty of good reasons three-star linebacker K.J. Britt arrived at camp with a bag full of impressive scholarship offers. Britt, who turned in a performance that backed up his long offer list, has not participated in many camp events in the past but looked like a natural on Saturday. His thick build did not impede his quickness whatsoever, as the Alabama-based linebacker showed off lateral speed and took home the day’s linebacker MVP award.

Dylan Wonnum’s arm extension and light feet defined his day. He rode every defensive lineman he faced to the outside, but also showed moments of impressive aggression. Wonnum finished reps well and drove a few defenders into the ground. He arrived in Atlanta with just three scholarship offers and provided one of the event’s most pleasant surprises.

Trey Blount stood out during one-on-one work but also looked smooth in drills. The four-star wide receiver is strong while remaining lean. He’s a polished route runner that’s showed off surprising quickness and a devastating bust of speed. He dropped a couple of passes on Saturday but ran open for the entirety of the afternoon. Blount’s upside is incredibly high because he has ample room to add muscle, become more physical and include another dimension to his game.
