Rivals Most Wanted: Harris, Emerson, Brown

Each week, Rivals.com is featuring three players who are blowing up on the recruiting trail with a flurry of new offers. This week, the focus is on a trio of 2018 prospects.

This week’s offers: Clemson, LSU, South Carolina

Status report: Harris leapt onto the national recruiting landscape in just a few hours’ time when he picked up his first two offers from Clemson and LSU on Monday and then followed it up with an offer from South Carolina on Tuesday morning. As sometimes happens in recruiting, three offers can quickly turn into 10, so Harris’ process should be an interesting one to watch this summer. He mentioned that Vanderbilt has been showing serious interest recently, while Florida is a program that he has followed in recent years due to its cornerback play; most notably Vernon Hargreaves and Jalen Tabor. Overall though, he seems very open at this time as he suddenly adjusts to becoming a priority recruit for schools.

In his words: “I can just say it is truly a huge blessing. I have worked hard, and it is good to see that the hard work is paying off. Clemson wasn't a very big surprise, because I knew they were really impressed by my performance at their camp, but LSU was very surprising. I’m just happy to see more and more schools being interested.”

Visit plans: Harris earned his Clemson offer after an impressive performance at a recent camp. That was his first camp stop, but he may make his way to Knoxville this week to try and earn an offer in front of the Tennessee coaches.

This week’s offers: Florida State, USC, South Carolina

Status report: Aside from adding three more offers to his impressive and growing list, Emerson also went home with the defensive lineman MVP at the Rivals250 Underclassmen Challenge Presented by Under Armour in Atlanta on Sunday. With the talent he showcased on Sunday, it is safe to say that Emerson’s offer total will continue to grow in the coming months. One school yet to offer that is high on Emerson’s list is Oregon, a school he admitted to following while growing up. As the Ducks have taken a more national approach to recruiting in recent years, it will be interesting to see if they begin to recruit the Tennessee lineman.

In his words: “Having this many options as a class of 2018 recruit is nothing but a blessing and I give all glory to God for them and I pray that every day he sends more. It feels great.”

Visit plans: Emerson took a visit to Tennessee on his way to the Rivals250 Underclassmen Challenge, but does not have any additional visits scheduled at this time. When the opportunity arises, he did mention that he would love to visit Ohio State and Oregon.

This week’s offers: Florida State, Purdue, Missouri, Toledo

Status report: Brown started the week with one offer and is now firmly on the recruiting landscape with five, as he has become a name to watch in the coming months. The offer from the Seminoles was especially eye-opening, as Florida State does not often go into Illinois to recruit underclassman defensive linemen. With Brown currently not claiming any favorites, and with Mount Carmel also being the home of 2018 four-star athlete Houston Griffith, the hallways of the school should be a hectic place over the next 18 months.

In his words: “It’s exciting to see that that there are a lot of schools interested in me. And that it hit a new level is amazing as a 2018 guy. I’m a little surprised to say the least."

Visit plans: Brown attended the Northwestern camp Saturday, which he believes went well for him. Next up is a stop at Ohio State this Friday and then Notre Dame on June 25. When the opportunity arises, he mentioned that he hopes to visit each of the schools that offer him.
