Class of 2020 Lake Wales, Fla., quarterback Chayil Garnett was already invited to Sunday’s Rivals 3 Stripe Camp event but he turned out on Saturday to post testing numbers. The 6-foot-2, 205-pound prospect just picked up an offer from Southern Miss earlier this month, after the Golden Eagles stopped in to see him throw in person. The visit from Southern Miss is just one of several that will take place for Garnett over the next few months, with Temple, North Carolina, Florida State and Oregon all expected to come through soon. Garnett said he’s open to all programs, but an offer from the Seminoles would have a major impact on this recruitment.

The first invite of the day went to class of 2019 defensive end/outside linebacker Javon Solomon, who just recently picked up an offer UAB. The 6-foot-1, 215-pound prospect already had an offer from USF and used his trip to the Central Florida area to visit the Bulls on Friday and then he was headed back to campus following Saturday’s event. Other schools showing interest in Solomon are Indiana, Georgia Tech and Troy. The Trojans are pushing hard to get him on campus for a visit soon. As of now, Solomon said he has no trips planned, but he hopes to camp at Florida and Florida State this summer.

One of the most pleasant surprises of the day was 2020 Mulberry, Fla., athlete Arian Smith. The 6-foot, 170-pound prospect put up impressive testing numbers, including one of the fastest 40-yard dash times and one of the best shuttle times on the day. Smith recently nabbed an offer from UCF, and was headed to check out the Knights' campus following Saturday’s event. Florida State, North Carolina and Florida have also offered Smith.

A pair of out-of-state players earned an invite back for Sunday’s event, headlined by Fort Wayne (Ind.) Snider High School tight end Simon Dellinger. The 6-foot-5, 225-pound tight end was in Orlando to visit UCF and said he was really impressed by the campus. Dellinger already has offers from Army, Bowling Green, Ball State and Eastern Michigan, and is receiving interest from Minnesota and Purdue. The other out-of-state prospect who received an invite was 2019 Wake Forest (N.C.) Heritage wide receiver Kemon Bloomfield. Among the schools showing interest in Bloomfield is Virginia Tech.

One of the players who turned heads at the combine was 2020 Daytona Beach (Fla.) Mainland offensive tackle Shayne Brennen. The massive prospect measured in a 6-foot-7, 302 pounds and showed impressive athleticism during testing. Brennen has limited varsity experience after transferring schools prior to last season, but is poised for a breakout spring in terms of his recruitment. Miami is Brennen’s dream school while Florida State, Georgia, Minnesota and Louisville are also showing interest.
