ATLANTA — Myles Sims is the No. 51-ranked prospect in the country. He is a 6-foot-3, 173 pound cornerback out of Atlanta (Ga.) Westlake with over four dozen scholarship offers. When asked what number he was at with offers, Sims said, "52, and I think I am done getting them."
Obviously he will have his choice of top programs and he will be able to stay close to home or leave the area to further his education and football career and Michigan is one of the schools he is considering. Sims took his first trip to Ann Arbor (Mich.) last weekend and he got a good look at what the Wolverines have to offer.
IN HIS OWN WORDS: "Looking at Michigan as a whole — they are good in academics and they are competitive in sports," said Sims. "Coach [Jim] Harbaugh is kind-of a celebrity coach, he is connected with a lot of people. That can go further than football.
"The defense that they run, they run man-to-man most of the time, and with me, they would use me to match up with any receiver.
"The highlight of this trip was seeing the whole campus. They have the No. 1 business school in America and looking at all of the different majors that I could possibly major in, that was probably the highlight.
"Michigan is a different breed of people. You have to be another type of athlete and well-rounded both ways [to go there].
"For me, if you are looking at it from a different perspective, outside of football, just knowing coach Harbaugh is big if you need a recommendation for something or if you need to get a contact, coach Harbaugh might be able to supply that for you, so I like that as well."
