FARRELL'S VIEW

There are many players that slid that surprised me, but I’ll go with DaeSean Hamilton from Penn State, who landed in Round 4. Hamilton had a very good career at Penn State, has solid size and speed and has shown good hands. I expected him to land perhaps in Round 2, and in Round 3 at the the latest, so the Denver Broncos might have gotten a steal here in Round 4. I think he’s a very good athlete who has the mentality and work ethic to be a longtime wide receiver in the NFL. This one puzzled me a little bit.

Nyheim Hines

Getting drafted in the fourth round is nothing to scoff at but when I watched NC State running back Nyheim Hines last season - and then I saw what he did at the combine - I think he fell way too low and could be a tremendous steal for the Indianapolis Colts. I really think Hines could develop into a version of Washington's Chris Thompson, an undersized back who could also catch passes out of the backfield and be used all over the offense.

Hines could also separate himself because he's fantastic and dynamic on special teams. He's so fast, great after contact and so tough to track down because of his speed, I think he's going to do great things for the Colts. Eight running backs were drafted before Hines. There was depth in this running back group, but come on, Hines is a steal and he probably should have gone somewhere in the second or third round.
