There are some things you can bank on when talking about recruiting and one of those things is that the top running back in Georgia, will be considered one of the nation’s best as well. There are several backs vying for the honor, but the frontrunner right now is Marietta (Ga.) Wheeler speedster Richard Rich.
“I have several new offers,” Rich said. “I got offered by UCLA, Auburn, Kentucky, Louisville, Tulane, Ole Miss, Southern Miss and Central Florida since the last time we talked. I’ve been getting some interest from a lot of other schools too though.”

The 5-foot-9, 175-pound Rich ran an impressive 4.44 second 40-yard dash at the Atlanta NIKE combine.
“My top two schools right now are Maryland and NC State,” Rich said. “I really like both of them a lot. They have been recruiting me really hard and they have early playing time available. They are also really good academic schools.”
One certain offer could change Rich’s whole outlook on the recruiting process in a hurry.
“I want a Miami offer bad,” Rich said. “I grew up watching them, I love that team. I always really liked Willis McGahee and Clinton Portis. I haven’t really hard from Miami at all. I don’t know if they don’t know about me or they just aren’t interested, but if they offered I don’t think I could say no.”
As a junior Rich carried the ball 196 times for 1,500 yards and 15 touchdowns with an average of 7.6 yards per carry.
“I’m not planning to go to any camps this year as of right now,” Rich said. “I just want to workout and get stronger and just chill with my friends. I just want to stay out of trouble and get ready for my senior year.”
