Render wavering on FSU commitment
Over the summer Newnan, Ga. offensive lineman Sergio Render gave a verbal commitment to Florida State but appears to be having second thoughts about rushing his decision. A 6-foot-2, 302-pound jumbo athlete Render holds, in addition to Florida State, approximately 10 other offers.

“I feel I rushed my decision to make an early commitment,” admitted Render. “I would consider my commitment to Florida State no longer solid at this point. I’m looking around at other schools right now.”
Render went on to add that he may re-commit to Florida State, but only after taking several official visits.
“I didn’t think things through completely before when I made my decision,” explained Render. “Florida State wants me to play offensive guard, but I really want to play defense in college. The other schools recruiting me, Virginia Tech, Arkansas, South Carolina, Georgia, Mississippi, and Mississippi State have all given me the option to play on either side of the football.”
Render has begun scheduling official visits with his first visit to come in two weeks.
“I’m going up to Virginia Tech the weekend of Oct. 15,” stated Render. “Right now, I’m also planning on taking visits to Florida State and Ole Miss. I’m not sure which other schools I’ll see just yet.”
Render has been playing on both sides of the football at the high school level, but continues to see the majority of snaps on the offensive side of the football.
“I’m playing only on first downs on defense, but I’ve played well given the limited action I’ve seen,” said Render. “I average six tackles a game and had seven quarterback hurries in our 28-7 win over Union Grove last week.”
Render and Newnan have won five straight after dropping their first two contests. They will take on Lovejoy this coming Friday.
