Rivals250 defensive tackle Amare Adams is set to announce his commitment today and there are a couple teams buying for his commitment that seem to have a good chance come decision time.

The Florence (S.C.) South Florence star announced the top seven of Alabama, Clemson, South Carolina, Georgia, Florida State, LSU, and Tennessee during the summer but it seems like there are three schools really vying for his commitment.

1. Clemson

The Tigers have the best chance of getting a commitment from Adams but their margin over the field is very narrow. Clemson is looking for more depth on the defensive line and Adams is a major piece of their future plans. The Tigers don’t have a true defensive tackle commitment in the 2024 class but getting Adams in the 2025 class would be a welcome jolt of good news given the latest turnover on Clemson‘s coaching staff this week.

2. South Carolina

The Gamecocks have invested a lot of time and energy recruiting Adams and they made one final pitch on Saturday ahead of his announcement. Adams has visited the Columbia campus more than any other school and the school that a prospect visits most generally lands their commitment. Adding more talent and depth on the defensive front is a priority for the Gamecocks and the South Carolina coaching staff is pull out all the stops to add him to their roster.

3. Florida State

The Seminoles did a great job with Adams when he visited earlier this year. That experience left a last impression on Adams and his family. Distance from home might end up playing a role for Adams but Florida State's coaching staff has done a great job communicating with Adams and making him feel comfortable with them and their style.
