QB Loukas draws his second offer

Deerfield (Ill.) junior quarterback prospect Alex Loukas (6-foot-4, 200 pounds) landed his second scholarship offer late last week from Northern Illinois University.
"Northern Illinois University offered me a scholarship offer late last week," Loukas said. "The coaches from NIU made an in school visit, and head coach Joe Novak told my head coach (Steve Winiecki) that they really liked my junior tape and that they wanted to offer me a scholarship. I called the NIU coaches later that night and they confirmed the scholarship offer on the phone."

Loukas, who now has offers from Iowa State and NIU, talked about landing his second offer from the Huskies.
"I really don't know a ton about NIU, but I'm going to check out a junior recruit day on May 15th. I do know that NIU has had some great success over the last few years, and that's exciting. NIU is also pretty close to home. I'm very happy and excited about getting an offer from the NIU Huskies."
Loukas has drawn plenty of traffic and interest so far during the May evaluation period.
"We've have had a bunch of college coaches in school over the last few weeks. NIU, Michigan, Michigan State, Purdue, Iowa, Bowling Green, Illinois, Kansas, Penn and several other Ivy League schools have made in school visits. I've gotten calls so far from NIU, Iowa State, Michigan State, Northwestern and I also know I've missed some calls."
Loukas is definitely starting to feel the overall recruiting interest pick up lately.
"It seems like more and more schools are taking some serious interest. Several other schools have told my coach that they will be making in school visits in May."
