Dorian Thompson-Robinson took his official visit to UCLA this past weekend.

He loved it. And he enjoyed meeting with the new coaching staff and having an opportunity to sit down and talk with first-year coach Chip Kelly.

The four-star quarterback from Las Vegas Bishop Gorman is 100 percent committed to the Bruins and not taking any other visits although he said last week he doesn’t plan to sign during the early period.

A trip back to Westwood was great and Thompson-Robinson is excited for what’s ahead.

“Coach Kelly’s message for me was ‘the best players will play,’” Thompson-Robinson said. “I just think that’s big especially for me and my situation.”

Something else Thompson-Robinson wants to do is convince other top prospects to join him at UCLA and he’s already off to a strong start.

Over the weekend, four-star athlete Bryan Addison picked the Bruins after his official trip. Four-star wide receiver Chase Cota is making his pledge later Wednesday with UCLA, Oregon, Notre Dame and others involved.

The really big fish is five-star receiver Amon-Ra St. Brown. The Santa Ana (Calif.) Mater Dei standout is the top-rated WR in the class and he’s looking at USC, UCLA, Notre Dame, Stanford, Michigan and possibly others.

Focusing on rounding out this recruiting class was another priority for Thompson-Robinson after talking with the coaching staff this weekend.

“Other than that, they are just really wanting me to push these other wide receivers, tight ends and offensive line recruits to commit,” Thompson-Robinson said.
