Pittman explains USC decision

Oregon looked like the frontrunner for Michael Pittman but after a late unofficial visit to USC the four-star receiver picked the Trojans on July 4.
It was another reason for the USC coaching staff to celebrate.

The Westlake Village (Calif.) Oaks Christian standout admitted this past weekend that the decision was a little bit of a surprise but he felt he had to choose the school where he fit in best. For Pittman, that was USC.
"Really what happened was it was based on which one I felt I fit in more," Pittman said.
"I visited SC, visited Oregon and just liked SC better. Oregon has a great school, great program, everything, but I just felt I fit in better at SC."
Position played a big role in Pittman's final decision. The former UCLA pledge said he wants to play solely as an outside receiver and that's not necessarily how the Ducks envisioned using him in their offense.
After meeting with the USC coaching staff, Pittman got the feeling the offensive fit was better there.
"Oregon wanted me to play a slot/backfield position and I don't know a lot of guys who play that at my size so I wanted to be a true outside," Pittman said. "USC wanted me to play true outside receiver so that factored a lot into it, too."
Fellow USC commit Frank Martin, from Santa Ana (Calif.) Mater Dei, helped greatly recruiting Pittman to the Trojans, who are loading up at wide receiver in this recruiting class and the four-star is definitely excited about the future.
"We're just trying to pick up as many great commits as possible," Pittman said. "No one is worried about who's better, we're just trying to all just get together and have a great relationship with all of them and go into SC."
