Patton re-works UCLA visit date

Columbia (Mo.) Rock Bridge quarterback Chase Patton had been set to visit UCLA in January but an early end to the season has caused a change in the visit calendar for the four-star quarterback.
“I was going to visit UCLA on Jan. 9,” the 6-foot-4, 205-pound Patton said. “But, with our last game being last week, I’ve moved that visit to this Friday.”

The Bruins will have the first shot at impressing Patton. Then the next week Tennessee gets their chance, followed by three December visits; Iowa (Dec. 5), Missouri (Dec. 12) and Kansas State (Dec. 19).
“Having the visits done by Christmas will give me a chance to think about things over the Christmas break,” he said. “I’m still planning on taking all five visits before making a choice. But, if something is just perfect for me on a visit, then you never know.”
On the season, Patton threw for just over 2,600 yards and 30 touchdowns.
“I didn’t run a lot,” he said. “I had some pass plays that broke down and it turned into a scramble. But, there weren’t many designed running plays for me.”
Virginia had continued to be mentioned by Patton as a possible choice. But, it appears the Cavaliers have been eliminated.
“Virginia got a transfer quarterback and a quarterback commitment,” Patton said. “It is a lot like Purdue and Georgia with two commits for me. That kind of took them out of the running for me. Virginia has slowed down on the recruiting of me too, kind of like me slowly losing interest in them.”
