Patton enjoys trip to Iowa

Columbia (Mo.) Rock Bridge quarterback Chase Patton has continued his tour around the official visit trail. This weekend, Iowa became the third school to host the four-star prospect.
“The visit went really well,” the 6-foot-4, 205-pound Patton said of his trip to Iowa City. “I liked it a lot. I went in with an open mind. I came out pretty impressed with the staff and the feel of the whole visit.

“With no game, I got the chance to know the coaches a little bit. We had breakfast at Coach Ferentz’s house today. But, Saturady was a real informative day. We learned a lot about the school and the program. They also took us to the stadium an dthe locker room. They had jerseys with all of our names on them hanging in lockers. Then they took us to the press box and played a video with the starters on the jumbo tron and they had taken pictures of us to use in the video. It was pretty neat.”
Patton will make the long trek to visit hometown Missouri next weekend.
“I’ve been there quite a bit and am familiar with a lot of things about the program. On an official visit I think I will get a little more of an inside look at things. I’ll have the chance to interact with coaches and players more, too.”
Patton does not want to list one school as a favorite.
“I probably would have said Tennessee was my favorite going into the weekend. But, now that I took the Iowa visit, it makes things interesting. I wish I could have a favorite and make a decision.”
Patton’s living room has been busy as well.
“I’ve had coaches in from Missouri (Sunday), UCLA (Monday) Tennessee (Tuesday), and Iowa (Thursday). I will be having the Kansas State coaches come by on Monday or Tuesday this week.”
