FLOWE LANDS MAJOR OFFER

Justin Flowe was just hanging out in school when he got the major news that Alabama had just offered. It was a huge offer for the 2020 standout linebacker from Upland, Calif., who could be one of the best at his position nationally.

“It was a big offer,” Flowe said.“I was just chilling at school doing my work and my coach told me they offered me. I got on the phone with Tosh Lupoi and he told me about the school and how big it is. That’s kind of like a dream offer so I was surprised.”

The Upland, Calif., standout is still in the early stages of his recruitment and has not named any favorites. USC will remain a contender along with many others. Flowe would like to take trips to Oklahoma and Ohio State soon, and would like to hear more from Georgia.

MCCOY LOOKING AT VISITS

One of the top prospects nationally, Bru McCoy is taking a more national approach to his recruitment and he’s planning trips to Alabama and Oklahoma in the coming months.

“I want to travel and see some new places,” McCoy said.

The Santa Ana (Calif.) Mater Dei two-way star has been to Tuscaloosa but not since eighth grade and he’s never been to Norman so seeing those places will be important.

“Last time when I did it, I did a camp so I was inside the stadium but I never got to see the facilities,” McCoy said of Alabama. “I want to take the full tour. I’m pretty close with coach (Tosh) Lupoi up there so it would be nice to see him and keep building that relationship.”

McCoy said USC is recruiting him the hardest and then Oklahoma, Michigan, Alabama, Notre Dame, Texas, Oregon and Washington are among the schools staying highly interested.

TOP TEAM FOR HUFFMAN-DIXON?

There is a lot of buzz that Oregon is the team to beat for Braedin Huffman-Dixon and while he laughs it off there is some truth to it. The Ducks are definitely high on his list.

“It was always the dream school growing up and I love the staff,” Huffman-Dixon said.

The four-star athlete has a great relationship with assistant coach Donte Williams and that will play a major role. Georgia, Colorado, USC and Nebraska are also up on Huffman-Dixon’s list.

WOLFE HAS SOME STANDOUTS

USC, Washington, Oregon and Notre Dame have an early edge for three-star tight end Jude Wolfe but he’s planning some other visits and remains open to all programs.

The Bellflower (Calif.) St. John Bosco standout is looking to visit Georgia and he said hopefully Michigan in the coming months.

As for why mainly Pac-12 schools look good, Wolfe said it’s because he’s developed a strong relationship with those position coaches and that’s important in his recruitment.

“I’ve gotten to know all three of those tight end coaches really well and bonded with them a lot meeting them at camps and then camping at their schools,” Wolfe said.

DAVIS FIRM WITH U-DUB

Cameron Davis did not wait long to make his commitment - and the three-star running back does not regret it one bit.

The Upland, Calif., standout who rushed for 1,066 yards and 20 touchdowns in his junior season, pledged to Washington in January and absolutely loves the choice.

“I see myself like Myles Gaskin,” Davis said. “Our running styles are similar and I just like how they send so many guys to the NFL. Coach (Keith Bhonapha) is a really great running backs coach.”

The three-star said since his commitment in January he’s seen his recruitment actually pick up with UCLA, Arizona State and Nebraska being the most involved. Davis does not expect to take any other visits.

WILEY HAS DREAM SCHOOL

Arizona and Kansas are the first two offers for Las Vegas Desert Pines athlete Cameron Wiley but he also has a dream school he hopes offers soon: Florida.

“Mostly, because my family is from Florida,” Wiley said. “I’ve been out there a whole bunch of times. I just felt the vibe there. I’ve been to the school, been in the stadium, it’s a wonderful atmosphere, the players are cool, the coaches were respectful.”

The three-star plans to visit Florida for a camp this summer. Colorado, Utah and others are also getting more involved.
