Pack impresses S.C. backer
Gaffney (S.C.) linebacker J.B. Shippy recently attended a prospect camp at North Carolina State and came away impressed with what he saw. The 5-foot-11, 195-pounder talked about his interest in the Wolfpack in this interview with Rivals.com.

"N.C. State has started to recruit me," Shippy said. "I'd be happy with an offer from them. The camp up there overall was good. I was able to play linebacker and safety. I started out playing linebacker and after I did well at that, I switched over to safety and did well there, too."
Jim Bridge is recruiting for the Pack, who has shot to the top of Shippy's list.
"They are close to the top of the list," he said. "I liked the campus a lot and all the facilities when I was up there. I saw that statue that they have of the wolves and that got me fired up and ready to go."
South Carolina also remains in touch. Ron Cooper and Tyrone Nix both are recruiting Shippy for the Gamecocks.
"I keep in contact with South Carolina," he said. "They still are up there in my top three or so."
Division I-AA Liberty also has started to recruit Shippy.
In leading his high school team to its second consecutive state title, Shippy had more than 200 tackles, including 26 for loss.
"A possible three-peat would be great for me," he said. "I hope to increase my tackles to 230, have 35 for loss, get 15 sacks and have at least five interceptions, including three run back for touchdowns, this coming season."
Shippy doesn't have any more camps scheduled for the summer.
Shippy is the nation's No. 59 outside linebacker prospect and is the No. 16 overall prospect in the state of South Carolina according to Rivals.com.
