PA RB/DB favors Maryland
A broken leg might have stopped Lamar McPhearson's junior season, but it hasn't stopped him from getting plenty of attention when it comes to recruiting. The 5-foot-10, 190-pounder currently has one favorite, with a few others also very much in the race.

"My favorites are Maryland, Penn State, Michigan State, UConn, Virginia, North Carolina and Temple," said the Wyncote (Pa.) Bishop McDevitt standout. "Those are the schools that have been the most supportive since my injury. Maryland is my favorite because I really want to play in the ACC and it's close to home. I love their offense and if I played cornerback I would love to cover a wideout from Miami or Florida State."
However, without any offers just yet, McPhearson is keeping his options open.
"I also like Penn State because they need cornerbacks and have been in touch with me since my freshman season," he said. "MSU was the first school to recruit me and I lived in East Lansing for my 7th grade year. UConn is on the rise in the new Big East and they like me a lot. They could be my first offer. UVA and UNC are in the same boat, I love the ACC and both are great schools. Temple is a last resort, but I love Philly and I'm sure I can play there early."
Although he only played three games as a junior, McPhearson was an all-conference and all-county selection as a sophomore and hopes to impress some recruiters this summer and show he's back from the injury.
"I'm going to the NIKE Camp at State College on May 15 and I'll probably just bench and then watch everyone else," he said. "Then I'll go to the NIKE Camp in Oregon and compete. I also want to camp at PSU, Maryland, UConn, MSU and Temple. I'm around 60-70-percent recovered right now and I will be ready for the summer camps."
