Owens makes CaliFlorida announcement

After visiting Georgia, Oklahoma and Virginia Tech, Plantation, Fla., four-star defensive tackle Jeff Owens decided to end the recruiting process. And he ended it in style. After playing a very solid first half in the CaliFlorida Bowl at the Orange Bowl in Miami, Owens announced his college intentions.
"I'm going to Georgia," Owens, who is 6-foot-2 and 263 pounds, said. "I just had a feeling about what I can accomplish at Georgia compared to the other schools."

"I love the atmosphere, and I'm going to have fun playing for coach (Mark) Richt."
Owens visited UGA back on November 26. He had visits to Florida State and Miami lined up for late January and it's still unclear whether or not he'll take those visits because of his commitment.
So what type of player is UGA getting?
"Every team we played against, he dominated," Plantation coach Frank Helper said. "He dominated the Miami schools to the Broward schools. He dominated down there."
Rivals.com analyst Jeremy Patterson will have more coverage of Owens' commitment following the game.
