THE LATEST: The Oregon connection to Southern Florida that intensified when former USF coach Willie Taggart became the Ducks’ head coach weeks ago has quickly spread to Tallahassee. It wasn’t long after the hire that Oregon became the second offer for wide receiver Trevor Solomon-Wilson. And, already, it seems the Ducks have his full attention.

“They want me to come out there,” Solomon-Wilson said. “I don’t know too much about the school, though. I haven’t had much time to look into it.”

Taggart is actually responsible for both of Solomon-Wilson’s offers, as he offered the Florida product while he was at USF. Just a sophomore, Solomon-Wilson will likely see his recruitment pick up speed this spring.

IN HIS WORDS: “I want to visit Florida State and Oregon. Those two I know. Some other places, but for sure FSU and Oregon.”

RIVALS REACTION: Due to distance, Oregon might run into trouble recruiting Solomon-Wilson should his offer list grow exponentially. That said, the Ducks have a fair shot should his list remain short, which seems unlikely. It’s hard to project what may become of Solomon-Wilson, as his recruitment is still in its infancy. He’s hoping to land an offer from Florida State, which would change his college outlook dramatically.
