One standing out for Fla. safety

Gulfport (Fla.) Boca Ciega safety Denzel Conyers has landed four offers during spring practice. The four schools that have stepped forth with an offer are Florida International, Middle Tennessee, New Mexico, and Western Michigan.
"They are all interested in me and want me to come to their camps," Conyers said of his offers. "I am taking a visit to FIU on June 3rd. I am not sure when I will visit the other schools that have offered me."

The 6-foot-2, 185-pound defensive back said the offer from the in-state school stands out early on.
"FIU has impressed me," Conyers said. "The coach (Juan Navarro) has just really connected with me. He has kept it real. I want to be a part of a school that is up-and-coming. I like their tradition and how they are building to something. They have talked about bringing me in and making me not only a great football player but a great man. They just seemed like a real good family to be a part of. That is what football is about to me, being a part of a family."
In addition to his offers, Conyers is receiving interest from Ball State, Florida, Iowa State, Ohio State, Wisconsin, and others.
This summer, Conyers plans to visit Florida, Georgia Tech, Miami North Carolina, and South Carolina. He said he is likely to camp at each destination in hopes of landing an offer.
Boca Ciega wraps up their spring season on Friday when they square off against Palm Harbor.
