Olaniyan decommits

Four-star linebacker Aramide Olaniyan out of Woodberry Forest (Va.) Woodberry Forest School has been a soft commitment to Duke for months. Now the 6-foot-2, 202-pounder officially decommitted this morning.
"It went well," he said. "They (Duke) were understanding and they know that I'm still interested in them. I'll probably be taking unofficial visits there. They are keeping in contact, but it's the best decision for my family and I. I had a chance to talk to my mom and dad and it is probably the best idea to open up my options more and take a look at every program, the same way I looked at Duke.

"I just thought it would be a lot more fair to Duke if I decommitted."
The No. 10 prospect in Virginia maintains Duke is very much in the race still.
"Duke is not out of the question," he said. "I love the coaches there and definitely like what Coach Cutcliffe is doing."
Colleges have quickly jumped back into the mix with the news.
"UCLA is definitely a school I'm looking at along with Vanderbilt, Wake Forest, North Carolina, Miami, Clemson, Virginia, Michigan and Notre Dame," he said. "They've all been in contact this morning with my coach.
"Notre Dame, Miami and Vanderbilt haven't offered yet. Vanderbilt wants me to visit before they offer and a Miami offer is looking like a strong possibility. They liked my film."
Olaniyan has one official visit already set.
"I'm going to UCLA on November 21st," he said. "I haven't finalized any other dates.
"It's still too hard to say if I have a leader right now. All the schools are good situations and I'm open to other schools too. I'm open to any school willing to talk to me."
