What other schools are actively recruiting Owen?
“I would say the most interest is coming from Penn State, Iowa, Boston College, Connecticut, Duke, North Carolina, Virginia, and Syracuse. I don’t have any favorites at this time. I want to keep my options open.”
Last season Owen was a standout on both sides of the ball. On offense, Owen rushed for close to 1,100 yards and 12 touchdowns. On defense, Owen racked up 113 tackles. What is Owen working on this off season to prepare for college play?
“I am working the hardest on my strength and speed. The other big thing for me is staying mentally focused on my preparation.”
What does Owen look for in a school?
“Academics come first for me. I want to study math and education. After football I would like to be a math teacher. I look at a school’s graduation rate, facilities, and distance from my home. I want to play within driving distance of home.”
Owen carries a 3.3 GPA.
