Notre Dame head football Marcus Freeman on Monday revealed the depth chart for Notre Dame's home game Saturday with Stanford, that reflects some key injury updates, including both significant losses and recoveries.
The headliner is sophomore vyper end Boubacar Traore being lost for the season to an ACL tear he sustained in ND's 31-24 win over Louisville on Sept. 28. He is the ninth Irish scholarship player and 12th overall to be lost for the season due to injury since June.
On Saturday an hour before kickoff, three players listed as probable coming back from injuries were all cleared to play — defensive end Josh Burnham (left ankle), wide receiver Jordan Faison and cornerback Christian Gray (right shoulder).
Three others are listed as questionable were all ruled out — tight end Cooper Flanagan (left ankle), nose guard Gabe Rubio (right foot) and offensive guard Billy Schrauth (right ankle). Freeman said freshman safety Tae Johnson (shoulder), who had yet to play this season, is still a few weeks away from making his college debut.
A late scratch Saturday was key backup defensive tackle Jason Onye, who is missing the Stanford game for "personal reasons."
TV start time for the matchup between the 11th-ranked Irish (4-1) and Stanford (2-3) Saturday at Notre Dame Stadium is 3:30 p.m. EDT on NBC and Peacock.
Inside ND Sports continues to project ongoing snapshots of how the players are moving up and down the depth chart throughout the season.
