TALLAHASSEE, Fla. -- The tug of war between Florida State and Miami over Hurricanes’ commit Navaughn Donaldson continued on Wednesday, as the four-star lineman got plenty of attention at FSU’s camp.

Donaldson didn’t work out on Wednesday. Instead, he spent the afternoon on the sideline, conversing with Florida State coaches and a member of the student recruiting staff. Donaldson remains committed to Miami but says that Florida State is not his only other realistic option, despite the situation seeming as such.

“I’m open to a bunch of other schools,” Donaldson said on Wednesday. “It’s not just the two. There are more schools.”

Still, Donaldson admits that he’s in most frequent contact with coaches at Miami and FSU. And while he met with Florida State coaches in person on Wednesday, the message from the Hurricanes remains consistent.

“They just tell me to stay strong and that everything is still good,” Donaldson said. “They want me there and all that.”

Four-star defensive back Daniel Wright arrived at Florida State’s camp and committed after the session ended. The Rivals250 standout got special attention from the FSU staff throughout the day.

Joseph solid to LSU

Recent LSU commit Nadab Joseph (2018) didn’t work out at camp on Wednesday but says he intends to on Thursday. Joseph says he is 100-percent solid to LSU but wouldn’t mind earning an offer from the Seminoles due to his camp efforts. Joseph says he has little interest in other programs.

Williams favors two in the SEC

Class of 2018 receiver Seth Williams arrived at FSU’s camp with a handful of major scholarship offers, but said he currently favors Alabama and Georgia because of the atmosphere he’s experienced at both schools. Williams, who did not earn an offer from Florida State on Wednesday, intends to visit South Alabama in the coming weeks.

Football newcomer stands out

The most physically impressive looking prospect on the field was Kayode Oladele, a Nigerian import that did not work out on Wednesday. The 6-foot-5 240-pound defensive lineman has not yet played a live down of football but has collected a handful of offers based on his imposing size and performance at Miami Edison High School this spring. Syracuse leads the way in his recruitment for the time being, but Oladele says a group of schools, including Florida State and LSU are likely to offer once he gets some actual games under his belt this fall. NAME recently visited LSU and seems high on the Tigers, to which his teammate Nadab Joseph is currently committed.

Steed is 'still with Miami'

Miami commit Waynmon Steed took in the sights at the Seminoles’ camp on Wednesday but did not work out. Steed remains committed to the Hurricanes but says he is also considering Louisville and N.C. State. Steed will visit Louisville on July 15 and recently returned from the campus of N.C. State. Steed says he was impressed with his trip to N.C. State but indicated he is “still with Miami” when asked if he is considering a change of heart.

N.C. State leads for Robinson

South Broward (Fla.) High School wide receiver Dennis Robinson and arrived at Florida State on the heels of a visit to N.C. State. He named the Wolfpack as his leader. Robinson picked up an offer during a recent visit to campus and was blown away by the experience. “The gave us great opportunities there,” Robinson said.
