TALLAHASSEE, Fla. -– Day two of Florida State’s June prospect camp attracted a number of faces that weren’t present on day No. 1. Recruiting news was in no short supply with the group, as the day featured a long list of prospects with major offers. Below are recruiting news and notes on prospects that attended the event’s second day.

Clemson has 'jumped up' for Williams

Four-star wide receiver Xavier Williams showed up in Tallahassee with an offer from the Seminoles already in tow. Still, it didn’t stop him from working out at the camp. A class of 2018 prospect, Williams has taken a handful of visits in recent days as part of a college tour and says that Clemson and Georgia were the standout stops on the trip. As for an overall leader, however, Williams rattles off a handful of programs.

“I don’t have a leader, but Clemson has jumped up,” Williams said. “It’s, like, Clemson, Georgia, Oklahoma and Miami for now.”

Georgia has Shivers' attention

Running back Shaun Shivers (2018) arrived on Florida State’s campus on the heels of a college bus tour with his high school teammates and on the verge of naming a new leader. His recent visit to Georgia certainly made an impression, as Shivers stopped just short of saying the Bulldogs now top his list of offers.

“I’m liking Georgia right now,” Shivers said. “Everyone is still the same, but I have a lot of interest in Georgia.”

Sanders remains strongly committed to Tide

Alabama running back commit Trey Sanders (2019) showed up and worked out on Thursday. Months ago, Florida State was responsible for Sanders’ first scholarship offer. And while Sanders refuses to close the door on FSU and says he will take other visits, he remains strongly committed to Alabama, which he visited roughly a week ago.

“I’m just worried about Alabama right now,” Sanders said. “I’ll probably take some other visits soon, but right not I’m just thinking about Alabama.”

Samuels commits to Florida State

Florida State’s second commitment in 24 hours came from Rivals100 cornerback Stanford Samuels, whose father was a star in the program years ago. Samuels had favored Florida State for some time and pulled the trigger on his verbal pledge just before 2:45 p.m. ET. Samuels’ commitment followed that of four-star safety Daniel Wright, who pledged his services to FSU on Wednesday evening.

Four in front for Wright

Ft. Lauderdale (Fla.) Dillard High school defensive end Jordan Wright attended Florida State’s camp with a handful of his high school teammates but elected not to participate in the event. Wright has a scheduled visit to Syracuse on June 18 and will then tour USC on June 22. Wright holds offers from both the Orange and the Trojans and says Syracuse, USC, Alabama and Kentucky currently lead his recruitment.

Georgia Tech visit impressed Whittaker

Defensive end Chris Whittaker says a recent visit to Georgia Tech impressed him. He sang the praises of the Georgia Tech coaching staff’s and the school’s downtown location. Still, Whittaker says Notre Dame and South Carolina lead his recruitment. He has already toured South Carolina and hopes to visit Notre Dame in the near future.

Early departure for Beal

After attending camp on Thursday morning but not working out, four-star linebacker Robert Beal departed prior to the start of the camp’s Thursday session. Beal was scheduled to remain in Tallahassee through the day on Thursday, but departed abruptly along with offensive lineman Dylan Wonnum and other members of his traveling party.

Florida State leads the way for Thompson

Defensive tackle Tru Thompson says Florida State remains out in front of his recruitment. The class of 2018 defensive tackle plans to wait until his senior season before choosing a college, but the Seminoles have a firm hold on the top spot on his list. Thompson says that Tennessee is also in the mix and occupies the space behind FSU in his pecking order.

Ford is exploring other programs

Miami commit Jon Ford remains a member of the Hurricanes’ 2017 class. That said, the Ft. Lauderdale (Fla.) Dillard High School defensive lineman is also aggressively exploring other programs. Ford will visit USC on June 22 and is also making plans to tour Kentucky, Tennessee and South Carolina. Ford plays defensive end at Dillard but has added weight and worked out at defensive tackle at FSU’s camp.

Bozeman names SEC leaders

Lauderdale Lakes (Fla.) Boyd Anderson defensive back Rennard Bozeman named Mississippi State and Arkansas as his leaders on Thursday. According to Bozeman, who will visit Arkansas next week, the two programs remain level at the top of his list and he hopes to make a decision following the upcoming season.

Seminoles out in front for Nesbitt

Wide receiver Michael Nesbit had one of the most impressive afternoons of any prospect on Thursday and named Florida State as his firm leader following the morning session. It’s unclear if the Seminoles are prepared to take a commitment from Nesbit, but the wideout seems close to offering one up should it be accepted.

Fuller likes the 'Eers

Defensive back Raheme Fuller of Lauderdale Lakes (Fla.) Boyd Anderson says West Virginia now firmly leads his recruitment. Fuller says it’s a combination of defensive scheme and his relationship with the Mountaineers’ coaching staff that makes the difference. Fuller will take a number of other visits before making a commitment, but WVU seems to have a solid hold on the top spot on his list for the time being.
