NFL comps of top prospects: Offense

NFL comp: Tyron Smith, Dallas Cowboys
Because Ivey is a physical lineman and an athletic freak, so many different offensive linemen came to mind, including Eugene Monroe. Smith has the length, footwork and rare athleticism that Ivey should possess in a few years. It's rare when you see an offensive tackle who is so athletic, you think he could be a big tight end if he wanted and that's Ivey and Smith.

RB
Damien Harris
Berea (Ky.) Madison Southern
NFL comp: Jonathan Stewart, Carolina Panthers
Harris is a well-built back who will add some additional weight and strength. He has good vision and can run for power or bounce things outside. Stewart may not be considered by many to be an elite NFL back, but that's a mistake. Yes, he's shared some time in the backfield, but he averages nearly 5 yards-per-carry and has rare speed for his size. Stewart was one of the best running backs I've scouted out of high school and Harris is right there with him.

WR
Calvin Ridley
Coconut Creek (Fla.) Monarch
NFL comp: Odell Beckham Jr., New York Giants
This was an interesting one, because I was looking for a receiver who had average size, great hands and ran good routes with explosion. There were many candidates, but most weren't as long as Ridley or as athletic, but a bit faster, so Beckham Jr. is the choice. Ridley doesn't have the same hands as Beckham (no one does), but he has similar body control and gains good separation. He can make some circus catches. He just uses two hands more often.

ATH
Terry Godwin
Hogansville (Ga.) Callaway
NFL comp: Tavon Austin, St. Louis Rams
Godwin is a tad taller than Austin and perhaps not quite as explosive as a high school prospect, but he's a bit more versatile and his footwork is in the same category. Godwin could be a similar threat in the return game and on bubble screens, inside handoffs and slants and he is also a deep threat. Godwin could have a career similar to Austin did at West Virginia and get a first-round tag despite his lack of great size.

WR
Tyron Johnson
New Orleans (La.) Warren Easton Senior
NFL comp: Antonio Brown, Pittsburgh Steelers
Johnson is a great route runner, he is explosive in and out of his breaks and gains separation not only with speed but with that ability to set up receivers. Brown is one of the top receivers in the NFL because of these attributes and once Johnson gets a bit bigger and more physical, he can also outmuscle defenders in a similar manner. He has excellent sideline skills and good body control like Brown.
7
OT
Drew Richmond
Memphis (Tenn.) Memphis University School
NFL comp: Trent Williams, Washington Redskins
Richmond is a massive lineman who excels at run blocking but is underrated in pass protection and that is pretty much the same description many scouts have of Williams. Williams is very underrated as a pass protector and is a big, physical man. I see Richmond developing in a similar fashion. And like Williams, a lot of people don't think Richmond is as good as he truly is.

RB
Derrius Guice
Baton Rouge (La.) Catholic
NFL comp: Marshawn Lynch, Seattle Seahawks
It's hard compare anyone to Lynch, who is one of the most physical runners in recent NFL history, but watch Guice on film and in person and you can see he runs with that same aggression and anger. Guice wants to knock people around. He'd just as easily run someone over as run around them and he has underrated speed for a big back. "Beast Mode" sets the bar very high, but Guice is one of the more physical runners I've seen in recent years as well.
9
WR
Christian Kirk
Scottsdale (Ariz.) Saguaro
NFL comp: Steve Smith Sr., Baltimore Ravens
Kirk isn't the tallest receiver, but he is very thick and physical, so a few different players came to mind. Does Kirk have the same edge as Smith? Does he have the same work ethic? That will be determined down the line, but Kirk will continue to fill out, has excellent speed and fights for the ball with strong hands. Kirk also has the leadership skills of Smith at a young age.
10
WR
Deon Cain
Tampa (Fla.) Tampa Bay Tech
NFL comp: Sammy Watkins, Buffalo Bills
Why not compare Cain to a former Clemson great who is starting to emerge as a star in the NFL? Cain has less experience than Watkins did at receiver coming out of high school, but Cain is an exceptional athlete like Watkins and can move the chains as well as do work downfield. He's not quite as long as Watkins, but he's more filled out at same stage and he should be a star at Clemson and beyond.
