More offers likely for Crabtree

Mansfield (Texas) has seen its fair share of college recruiters come through its doors this spring. One prospect that has benefited from the extra eyes on him is offensive tackle Zachary Crabtree.
The 6-foot-7, 260-pound junior recently picked up his first pair of offers.

"I have two offers right now - Utah State and Tulsa," Crabtree said on Monday evening. "Utah State offered me last week on Tuesday or Wednesday and Tulsa offered me in April.
"They pretty much both just came out of the blue to me. Utah State came by in spring ball and offered me. Tulsa came by too but they had offered me before about a month before that."
A few other programs could be close to adding to Crabtree's offer total as well.
"I've been hearing a lot from Oklahoma State, Arizona State and Baylor," he said. "Those are the main ones. It seems like Arizona State and Oklahoma State are close to offering.
"Arizona State, I just met with them last week but they said that they're close to offering. I've been talking with coach (Larry) Porter. At Oklahoma State I've been talking to coach (Joe) Wickline."
Crabtree had the opportunity to make a few campus visits this spring.
"I visited Tulsa, Oklahoma State and Texas Tech this spring," he said. "Tech has been talking to me too. I actually just got off the phone with them a little while ago."
Crabtree is hesitant to name favorites but does admit that a Big 12 school stands out a bit at the moment.
"Not really," he said. "Oklahoma State kind of is. I like what they're all about but I'm kind of trying to keep everything open right now."
