Dallas (Texas) Samuel running back Cornell Tarrant picked up two scholarship offers earlier this spring and more schools have joined the mix in recent days.
"Kansas State and UTEP offered me earlier on," the 5-foot-11, 185-pound Tarrant said. "

I have more offers since then, though. The newer ones are Georgia Tech, Texas A&M, Baylor and Maryland."
Tarrant is not ready to make his college choice, yet.
"Well, I am starting to work toward making a decision. I am narrowing my list down. I don't have one school that is my favorite. They all have some good qualities that I am looking at. I would like to have this all done before I start my season, but I won't rush it. It might be after two or three games this fall."
Tarrant had one camp planned for today, but was not able to make it.
"I was supposed to go to Texas' camp today. One of my coaches was going to take me down and I can't get a hold of him. I didn't make it and I think that one is all over at this point. I don't have any other camps planned either."
Tarrant's summer is consisting of track, rather than 7-on-7 competitions.
"I'm in summer track. I'm not playing 7-on-7. I won the 100-meter and 200-meter dashes at a meet this weekend. I'm working on getting faster this summer and that will pay off this fall."
During his junior season, Tarrant ran for 951 yards on 117 carries while sharing time in the backfield.
