Memphis (Tenn.) Ridgeway defensive end Lagrone Shields is still waiting on his first scholarship offer, but has been getting plenty of attention from schools throughout the Southeast.
The 6-foot-4, 240-pounder went to Oxford, Miss., during the weekend for the Ole Miss Junior Day and came away impressed with the Rebels program.

"It was great," Shields said. "They really influenced me that it would be a good thing to come to their school. They acted like they were going to offer me soon."
Shields also has been getting letters from Auburn. He has an early top five of the Rebels and Tigers, along with Tennessee, Georgia and LSU.
"I am just looking for a place that's going to be home for me for the next four years," he said.
Shields, who also plays basketball, was one of the more active prospects on the Ridgeway defensive line in 2005.
"I am a very active player," he said. "I may not be the fastest or the strongest, but I am going to get after it and be disruptive."
