Recruiting wrap: Lawrence has offers from more than 25 schools, but Tennessee, Georgia, Clemson and Florida appear to be in the best shape to land his commitment.

Scouting report: Seemingly every class has a quarterback who checks all the boxes when it comes to on-field production combined with physical attributes and raw talent. In the class of 2015, it was Josh Rosen. In the class of 2016 it was Jacob Eason. In the class of 2018, Lawrence appears to be that guy. At 6-foot-5, he looks like a player who could develop into a star in college and beyond and he has the natural arm talent that can’t be taught.

Why he’s a five-star: Lawrence is a big quarterback who has an uncanny knack for feeling the rush and making the right choice whether to step up, work outside or throw early while still being accurate. He can make all the throws with a strong arm, he has a great frame to fill out and he sees the field well. He’s better at timing routes than he should be at such an early age.” – Rivals.com National Recruiting Director Mike Farrell

His coach says: “Whatever category you pick to ask about Trevor, he’s the real deal in every category. He’s a great kid, he’s a great leader, works hard on the field and in the weight room and he’s a great student. Whether it’s his ability, movement, size, whatever attribute you’re talking about, he’s top of line.” – Cartersville head coach Joey King

Odds and ends: Lawrence led his team to an undefeated record and a state championship in 2015. He finished the year with 3,655 yards passing and 43 touchdowns with just four interceptions. He also completed 64 percent of his passes.

Recent recruit comparison: Eason. Because of his size and ability to throw the deep ball, the comparison between the two players is inevitable.
