McPhearson has three offers

Wyncote (Pa.) Bishop McDevitt is home to 5-foot-10, 190-pound running back/cornerback Lamar McPhearson, and he has offers from Syracuse, North Carolina and Michigan State.
"I always like Michigan State and UNC because they were the first two schools to recruit me. Coach Lawing first recruited me when he was at Michigan State, then when his staff got fired he moved to North Carolina and started recruiting me there. So I'm pretty close with him. Both those schools have great facilities and very nice campuses.
"I love the ACC, so that's a plus for North Carolina, and in the Big Ten you know you'll be playing in front of a lot of big crowds. The only drawback to Michigan State is they want me on defense, and I love carrying the ball. I lived in East Lansing for a little while back in seventh grade, and I really like that area. I really like their new staff and think they're taking the program in the right direction."
What does McPhearson think about Syracuse?
"Syracuse just kind of came out of nowhere," he said. "I always liked them and followed them, but they only sent me a few letters at first. The day after they watched my film they told me they were offering me a scholarship. They were the first school to offer me, and they're probably my favorite right now. They already have a lot of good running backs, but I'm not going to be afraid of competition, because that will be anywhere. I've got some friends up there and they all say good things about it."
McPhearson is interested in another ACC school, though they aren't as high on his list.
"I really like Maryland a lot, but they haven't offered and are probably lower than the other three. I'm going to take my time and visit the schools that have offered me over the summer. I wasn't expecting these offers to come so soon since I missed my junior year, so I'm just really excited. I'm ready for a big year this fall."
