Lufkin CB getting lots of looks

DALLAS - Junior cornerback Darrius Terry of Lufkin, Texas certainly made the long drive from East Texas to the Rivals.com Junior Day at Southern Methodist University in Dallas.
Measuring in at 5-foot-11 ½, 171 pounds, Terry certainly looks the part of a Division I defensive back. He's got the mail to prove it. Schools such as LSU, Florida State, Florida, Notre Dame, Oklahoma State, Oklahoma, and several other Big 12 schools are showing Terry lots of love.

"It's basically the whole Big 12 along with the others," Terry said about the schools sending him mail. "My favorite would be Texas though, I just haven't heard from them yet."
Terry describes himself purely as a "coverage corner" but he also has shown the ability to be solid in the run-support game. He was a second-team all-district member as a junior.
With his team heading to the state title last year, Terry thought that they would surely be playing in the big game at the end of the season. Unfortunately, they were upset by Round Rock in the playoffs.
"We just didn't come out to play in that game against Round Rock and we ended up getting beat," Terry said. "We're working hard again this year to get back there."
Terry says that he doesn't have set plans for any upcoming visits. However, the trip to the Rivals.com event at SMU was something he learned a lot from.
"It was important for me to see how much education can make a difference in your life," Terry said. "It's really good to understand that you need to focus on that to have a back-up plan for sports."
