THE LATEST: Over two dozen schools have offered 2019 Rivals 250 linebacker Donte Starks and he is one of the most coveted prospects at his position in the country. Arkansas State, Clemson, Memphis, Mississippi State and TCU are some of the schools that have offered in January.

LSU is his home-state school and he has had that offer for over a year and the Tigers are on his mind.

IN HIS OWN WORDS: "LSU is coming at me hard and I am looking at them," said Starks. "I have talked to coach Ed Orgeron a lot and I love his energy. They offered me when I was a sophomore and they have been coming at me ever since."

HOME FEELING: "I grew up in Louisiana, I have been on that campus multiple times and I grew up a fan of LSU. The coaches there have put time in to develop relationships with me and they make me feel at home when I am there."

HIGH INTEREST: "I like the environment and the people there. It is just a good feeling when I am on the LSU campus. They play great defense, so many coaches want to know me at LSU and it would be hard for me say no to LSU and to leave the state.

"I have always liked LSU a lot and they are a top school for me."

RIVALS REACTION: The Clemson offer is one to watch and he really wants one from Alabama, but LSU is going to be tough to beat. He has visited Baton Rouge much more than anywhere else and he just feels comfortable there. LSU is the school he grew up dreaming of playing for and they are recruiting him as hard or harder than anyone. Mississippi State is another school to keep an eye on. The new staff there has turned it up a notch, but all seem to be trailing LSU at this time even with Starks making it clear that he is open and exploring all of his options.
