Louisiana QB taking care of business

Just past the midway point in his senior season, Bastrop (La.) quarterback Randall Mackey is cruising. The dual-threat quarterback has led his Rams to a 6-0 start and has been putting up big numbers in the process.
"We've been killing people," Mackey said. "We've just had one god matchup this season and that was Rayville (a team they beat 42-36)."

Asked if he's doing most of his damage through the air or on the ground, Mackey said simply, "both."
"I've got seven rushing TDs, about 17 passing TDs and five interceptions and 1,212 yards," he said.
While he hasn't picked up any more offers, he is still getting plenty of interest.
"I talked to the coach from Memphis recently," he said. "And I've been talking to ULM. I'm gonna go on a couple visits. I don't know yet where or when. I'm gonna wait to take my official visits till after the season."
Mackey did go to Baton Rouge on his own this past weekend to take in LSU's comeback win over Florida and enjoyed his experience.
He will get another opportunity to showcase his ability this weekend when Bastrop visits Evangel Christian Academy another undefeated program and one of the top teams in 2A.
